Narendra Modi's VVIP status: Thackeray ignites row in BJP
Mumbai, June 24: Days after the exclusion of JD(U) from NDA, another ally Shiv Sena clearly expressed its disappointment with BJP over Narendra Modi's VVIP status in the party.
Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray in the party's magazine slammed BJP for its decision to cast Modi as the face of its election campaign. Mr Thackeray also warned that the decision would place BJP off-limits for partners.

The Sena chief also added, "Is the BJP in a position to win the elections on its own strength? Who are its new friends, this must be made clear now."
Rajnath Singh recently had offered the convenor post of NDA to Thackeray. Replying to Singh's offer, the latter said: "The post of NDA convenor is vacant. But what will this person do? Call the other two parties for tea?"
NDA convenor post was vacated following JD(U)'s exit from NDA. JD(U) supremo Sharad Yadav was holding the post for last few years. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other JD(U) leaders announced their decision on June 16.
