Cabinet rejig today, Kharge to get rail ministry?
New Delhi, June 17: After the party rejig, the Congress-led UPA government is set to see a reshuffle in the Cabinet on Monday. Sources said veteran leader from Karnataka Mallikarjun Kharge is likely to get the railway ministry after the minister in-charge C P Joshi quit the post on Sunday. Kharge was one of the frontrunners for the chief minister's post in Karnataka where Siddaramaiah ultimatley took charge.
Girija Vyas is likely to get the portfolio of housing and poverty alleviation after the minister in-charge, Ajay Maken, quit on Saturday to look after the party's organisational affairs ahead of the Delhi assembly elections scheduled later this year.
Oscar Fernandes, who was dropped as the AICC general secretary, is likely to be inducted in the Cabinet. He is likely to be made the transport minister, sources said.
Senior minister Sisram Ola could be made the new labour minister while Rao Birender Singh could get the textiles ministry from Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.
