Wipro gives around 8% wage hike to employees
Bangalore, June 13: Indian IT bellwether Wipro Ltd on Thursday announced an average wage hike of 6 to 8 percent to its offshore employees and 2 to 3 percent to onsite employees from this month.
"In line with the practice of rewarding high performers, we are giving double-digit hikes to our offshore and onsite employees," the company said in a statement here.
Wipro's wage hike announcement was close-on-the heels of its rival Infosys giving a similar hike to its offshore and onsite employees but from July 1.
Wipro's global IT services and products entity has 145,812 employees worldwide, with majority of them based in India.
