Aarushi Murder:Talwars bashed again but continue their fight

Ghaziabad, June 13: Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, the doctor couple, once again faced the wrath of a special CBI court which slammed them for reiterating their plea again in connection with Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case.

The court bashed the couple who once again urged the court to record the statement of 13 witnesses. Lawyers of the Talwars on Wednesday, June 12 submitted a list of consisting the name of all witnesses.

Before accepting their plea, the court said, "How can you compel the other party? Law permits you to examine those witnesses. Why are you in hurry? Recording of your statement is going on. After that you try to examine them."

Earlier the Supreme Court had slammed the couple for approaching the apex court directly without considering the role of higher court.

The Talwars urged the trial court to record all 14 witnesses' statements once again. However, their pleas were rejected simultaneously by trial court, Allahabad High Court and the Supreme Court.

The list of the witnesses includes Arun Kumar, former Uttar Pradesh ADG (crime and law &order); RK Sharma, former HOD of forensic science at AIIMS; Urmil Sharma, Nodal officers of Airtel and Vodafone; Dr Richa Sexena, a gynaecologist and emeritus consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi; Dr SL Vaya, expert at FSL in Gujarat; Rajinder Koul, a resident of Sector 47 in Gurgaon and Mahendra Sharma, a carpenter.

Rajesh and Nupur, parents of the deceased were the two sole accused in the double murder case. Recently, their statements have been recorded in the court.

14-year-old Aarushi was found dead at her Noida residence on May 16, 2008. Initially needle of suspicion was pointed at their domestic help Hemraj. However, a day later, their domestic Hemraj's body was also found in the terrace of their house.
