Overnight shower cripples life in Mumbai
Mumbai, June 10: Heavy showers on Sunday night and Monday morning brought life in Mumbai to a standstill, with many localities found to be waterlogged and the suburban train services hit.
News of waterlogging were reported from Worli, Hindmata, Dadar, Matunga, Lower Parel, Sion, King's circle, Kurla, Bandra, Mahin, Santacruz, Ghatkopar, Ville Parle, Goregaon and Andheri.
Suburban trains on Central Railway were running late by 15-20 minutes while those on the Harbour Line and Western Railways were delayed by 5-10 minutes.
Colaba recorded 70 mm while Santacruz recorded 113 mm of rainfall till 5 am, the met department said. High tide measuring over 4 metres is expected around 1.41 pm.
Met officials predicted intermittent rain throughout Monday.
