Lyricist Surendra Nath Vidyadhar no more

Cuttack, June 10: Veteran lyricist Surendra Nath Vidyadhar, who wrote more than 2000 songs for Odia

, passed away here, family sources said.

Vidyadhar was ailing for the past few days and the end came yesterday at his residence. He was 78. He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

An advocate by profession, Vidyadhar had a flare for writing songs and was a senior artiste of All India Radio.

He penned many popular songs for Odia cinema and was known as an affable person in the Odia film industry. The body was cremated at Puri Swargadwara.
