Will work for Congress free India: Modi

Modi
Panaji, June 9: After being named chairman of the BJP campaign committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Gujaraj Chief Minister Narendra Modi Sunday vowed to work for a "Congress-free India".

"Senior leaders have reposed faith in me. We will leave no stone unturned for Congress Mukt Bharat Nirman (Congress-free national development). Thanks for support and blessings," tweeted Modi.

Shortly after he was named the BJP's 2014 poll campaign chief Sunday, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi spoke to party veteran L.K. Advani and sought his blessings -- and got it.

"Spoke to Advaniji on the phone. He gave me his blessings. Honoured and extremely grateful to receive his blessings," tweeted Modi.

Advani did not attend the three-day Bharatiya Janata Party conclave in Goa citing ill health.
