Modi beats Advani, becomes BJP election campaign chief
Panaji, June 9: As it was expected, Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday, June 9 finally declared their decision making Narendra Modi the convener of BJP campaigning committee for 2014 election.
Putting an end to all controversies, BJP President Rajnath Singh announced that Modi has been promoted to the Chairman post of the party's Campaign Committee for 2014 general elections. Singh claimed that Modi's elevation would boost party's chance to rule the general elections against Congress-led UPA.
Overruling all reports regarding differences between Modi and party veteran LK Advani, Singh claimed that decision on Modi was taken with consensus. Singh, while addressing the media from Goa, was quoted as saying, "We are the only alternative, will bring about change. From corruption to misgovernance, this country has been let down by the government."

Modi, who recently was also appointed a member of the party's parliamentary board, had said, "We need the country free from Congress rule. Nation has never seen such brazenness and people are angry with Congress."
"People still believe institutions and remember the work of Atal Bihari Vajpayee even today with confidence," added Modi.
BJP party workers across the country began celebration over BJP's decision to promote Gujarat Chief Minister. Earllier BJP national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan had asserted, "There is no doubt Modi is the best commando we have. And in a war, we use our best weapons and commandos."
While most of the senior leaders of the party -- Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and others were present at the two-day crucial meet of BJP, Advani skipped the meet.
