, June 4: Six local organisations today demanded immediate introduction of Inner Line Permit system in

to check increasing number of non-locals staying in the state without valid documents and proper verification.

Several non-locals without valid documents were staying at rent at more than 300 houses at Hatta area in Imphal East district and they should be expelled by concerned land or house owners immediately, Haji Arafat Ali, a spokesman of the organisations, said here.

He claimed that a non-local truck driver staying in Hatta area was killed and his body thrown at Imphal river at Sapermeina area in Senapati district on June 1. Such incidents could be prevented if ILP was introduced in the state.
