Teacher suspended for sexually harassing girl students

Chandigarh, May 29: Punjab Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka on May 28 suspended a government school teacher after parents alleged that he had harassed girl students.

Maluka had earlier directed the Circle Education Officer, Nabha to enquire into the complaints and after submission of the inquiry report, ordered the suspension of Mahesh Kumar, who taught in a government school in Mahinderganj at Rajpura.

A spokesman of the education department added that the minister also transferred the Principal of the school concerned for not taking up the issue seriously.
