Meet Srinivasan, Barack Obama's favourite person!

Bangalore, May 29: US President Barack Obama claimed that Srinivasan is one of his "favourite" persons. Please don't be shocked. We are not talking about our BCCI chief N Srinivasan who currently is tremendous pressure to step down over IPL spot fixing scandal.

Meet Srikanth Srinivasan, an Indian-origin, who recently has been confirmed by the US Senate (97-0) votes as a judge on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals.

The position of DC Circuit Court judge is considered as the top court in US after the Supreme Court. 47-year-old Srinivasan is the first Indo-American to reach to this high position.

Speaking about Srinivasan at a White House reception, the US President said, "One of my favourite people right now (is), Sri Srinivasan," and also added, "I was proud to nominate Sri, and he was just confirmed unanimously to become the first South Asian American federal appeals court judge."

Continuing his speech, Obama said, "I was telling his kids, who are here today, if he starts getting a big head, walking around the house with a robe asking them to call him 'Your Honor' then they should talk to me."

According to several media reports, the President may also consider Srinivasan's name during the nomination for the Supreme Court judge in case of the next vacancy on the bench.

Srinivasan, who hails from Tamil Nadu, was born in Chandigargh, Punjab. His family members later migrated to US.
