BJP protests, demands Manmohan Singh's resignation

The BJP Yuva Morcha activists, led by its president Anurag Singh Thakur, had announced that they would gherao Singh's residence and demanded his resignation.
"With this demonstration, we demand that the PM ought to speak up and also demand proper investigation into the scams and cases of corruption against the Congress party and its ministers coming out in the news on a daily basis," Thakur said.
Race Course Metro Station was shut as a measure to stop a further build-up of protesters.
"Race Course Metro station has been closed for public from 11 AM till further directions as per police advice," a Metro official said.
Water canons were used to bar the protestors from coming further. Section 144 was imposed around the area to dispel people from congregating.
