New Delhi, May 11: It is the season of resignations for Congress-led UPA government at the centre. After Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and Law Minister Ashwani Kumar resigned over corruption charges, it seems the next head to roll down is none-other-than Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Speculations are rife that PM has no other choice, but to abdicate his post. The pressure from BJP-led opposition demanding Manmohan Singh's resignation is mounting on UPA with each passing day.

Sources indicate that opposition will continue demanding PM's resignation in next few days.

"Now, there is no logic in the Prime Minister's continuance. Having decided to drop the Law Minister who was protecting the Prime Minister, then the consequences should follow. The consequence is that the Prime Minister must resign now," BJP leader LK Advani said late Friday.

Prime Minister finds himself in a spot over his alleged role in the coal blocks allocation scam and the government's interference in CBI's probe.

The resignations of Law Minister and Railway Minister were termed as "too late" by BJP.

"This is a step taken too late. Had the Prime Minister and Congress agreed to BJP's demand earlier, they could have saved the precious time of Parliament," said BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain.

"The resignation of the two Ministers shows that our demand for their resignation was justified and the government was unnecessarily adamant. If they had accepted our demand for their resignations earlier, the Parliament session could have gone on on," Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj said on Twitter.
