Some of the AAP leaders will also sit on a fast with the families at Jantar Mantar. In a statement on Thursday, the AAP said they will join the protest of the family of Nirpreet Kaur, who will begin her "indefinite hunger strike" on Friday.
She has put forward a list of demands to the government. Those include that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) should investigate the case independently. Kaur also said that an appeal should be filed in a higher court against the acquittal of Kumar and that the case should be heard and decided in three months time.
Nirpreet said that the verdict given by the court has "shaken" their faith in the system as they had a lot of faith that they will get justice.
Some Sikh protesters are also holding demonstrations near Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin station.
