Detained PoK residents sent to Delhi
Maharajganj (UP), May 2: The eight Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) residents, who were detained here while they were trying to enter India through the Nepal border, have been sent to Delhi, security officials said today.

"Some of the members of the group comprising two men, two women and four children, had been involved in terrorist activities and now wanted to return to Jammu and Kashmir under the rehabilitation policy introduced by the state government there," Sashastra Seema Bal commandant, B K Bankhoti told reporters here.

"The eight have been sent to the J-K cell in Delhi with SSB jawans accompanying them. From there, the central intelligence agencies would take over their case," Bankhoti said. He said that the members of the group had left Jammu and Kashmir in 1989 and 2009 and were "married and settled" in Muzaffarabad town in PoK. They had on Wednesday crossed over into India from Nepal at the Sonouli border in a bid to return to their home by taking advantage of the rehabilitation policy of the J-K government.

"They reached Kathmandu from Pakistan and from there, had crossed over into India," the official added. The PoK residents were detained by security personnel at the border yesterday morning for not having documents about their identity.
