In Faridabad, Haryana, a four-year-old boy was hospitalised after he was allegedly assaulted sexually by the house owner in Badauli village of the district, yesterday. The accused Rahul lured his tenant's son to his room yesterday and sodomised him, the police said.
The victim's father lodged a complaint and a manhunt has been launched to nab the accused who had managed to escape, SHO Abhay Singh said. Singh informed that the police are also preparing to register a case against family of the accused for allegedly helping him to flee.
A teenage girl was allegedly kidnapped today by some unidentified persons in Ballia (UP) when she was returning from college. The 19-year-old girl was abducted from the Bilthara Road by some car-borne men, SSP Onkar Singh said. He added that her family has alleged hand of neighbours in the abduction over an old rivalry. Three persons, including a woman, have been booked, he informed. Efforts are being made to trace the girl, he said.
Yesterday in Jammu, a 17-year-old girl was brutally assaulted for resisting an alleged rape attempt by two men, who crushed her under their motorcycle and dumped her in a drain assuming her to be dead in R S Pura sector.
Police said the minor was on her way to a nearby school on April 19 in Arnia village (Jammu) when she was intercepted by a local youth, Nitin, who asked her to sit on his motorcycle. According to the complaint, the girl refused to accompany Nitin following which he called one of his friends and forcibly took her to a nearby isolated place and allegedly tried to rape her.
When the girl resisted their overtures she was brutally beaten by them. They also tried to kill her by running over their motorcycle on her, according to the complaint filed by the girl's father, a labourer.
The complaint points out that they threw her in a nullah (drain), thinking she was dead. A passerby noticed her and also informed the police. She is being treated in Government Medical College Jammu, police said.
The main accused Nitin was arrested yesterday, police said, adding that hunt to nab the other accused was on. "Initially a case of accident was registered in this regard on the basis of the girl's initial statement. We have arrested the boy who has been named in the case and we are on the job to get all the facts about the incident," Rajeshwar Singh, Superintendent Police, told PTI.
The father of the 17-year-old girl said that a few days earlier the boy had misbehaved with his daughter and she had retaliated. Meanwhile, local BJP workers protested outside the Medical College Jammu on April 22. They demanded immediate action in the case.
In another incident, police informed that a minor girl was allegedly raped at her house by a 22-year-old youth in Akola, Vidarbha region in Maharastra. The incident occurred on Saturday night when the accused S K Saddam entered the victim's house when she was alone and sexually assaulted her at knife point, they said. A case has been registered against Saddam by the girl's father and a hunt is on to trace him, police said. Last week, a minor girl was allegedly raped by two youths at her house in Ambika nagar locality.
