, April 21: A new twist in 5-year-old minor rape case shocked all. Delhi

, during its investigation, found that the toddler was raped by two men.

25-year-old Manoj Kumar, the main accused who has been arrested, claimed that one of his friends was with him and both of them had raped the girl. The cops are trying to verify Manoj's claim, said sources on Sunday, April 21.

The 5-year-old girl was abducted on April 15 and kept hostage without food and water in a room in which the attacker lived. The accused was arrested on Saturday.

The culprit was arrested by a police team from Delhi with the help of Bihar police. The accused fled Delhi after committing the crime and boarded a train from Delhi to reach Bihar.

Reports say Kumar had married recently and his wife had come to her parent's place two days back. The accused, working as labourer in Delhi, is a native of Bharphua village of the district.

Kumar allegedly raped the girl at his rented accommodation in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar. The girl and her family stayed in the same building where Kumar lived. D

Delhi police has registered a case and slapped charges of attempt to murder and rape among other things on Kumar, who allegedly confined the girl in his room for at least two days.

The girl was rescued on April 17 morning from the ground floor of the building. The girl is battling for life in AIIMS hospital in the national capital after she contracted infection from foreign objects inserted into her body.

The brutality and bestiality involved in the rape and torture of the minor triggered large-scale condemnation. Protests erupted in the national capital to demand justice for the girl. The victim is currently fighting for her life at AIIMS hospital. Her condition is said to be critical.
