New Delhi, April 13: Delhi police announced a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on the absconding self-styled godman Swami Pratibhanand, one of the main accused in high-profile Deepak Bhardwaj murder case.

Police sources informed that 48-year-old Pratibhanand, who always wears saffron cloths, has changed his style and started wearing shirts and trousers to avoid being detected.

A police official on Friday was quoted as saying, "We have declared a reward of Rs.1 lakh to anyone who will provide information to Delhi Police about Pratibhanand."

Pratibhanand is believed to have been changing his locations since BSP leader's murder in his farmhouse in Delhi on March 26. According to sources, Pratibhanand has travelled to Nanded in Maharashtra, Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, Haridwar in Uttrakhand, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Bangalore in Karnataka, Patna in Bihar, and Kolkata in West Bengal.

The self-styled godmab allegedly had cherished to construct a ashram of his own. Hence, he assured Deepak hardwaj's son Nitesh to accomplish the task of killing the real-estate tycoon.

Nitesh had promised Rs 2 crore to Pratibhanand who appointed his driver Purshottam aka Monu and another contract shooter Sunil to kill the real-estate tycoon. The two killers, who reportedly had failed to kill Bhardwaj twice outside his Nitesh Kunj farmhouse in Delhi, finally succeeded to enter into the farmhouse and killed him on March 26.

However, CCTV footage, which police received from Nitesh Kunj, captured their faces. The killers were promised to give Rs 1 crore. All accused except Pratibhanand have been arrested.

Bhardwaj's son Nitesh, a distant relative of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, claims that he was upset with his multi-millionaire father and hence planned his murder.

"I was frustrated with my father's activities. We were leading a hand-to-mouth existence. He would humiliate my mother and brother a lot. I could see my mother going down. My father never understood us. He would insult the family publicly, and in the presence of his women friends," said 36-year-old Nitesh who has been sent to police custody.
