Quake shakes Mexico capital, no damage reported
The US Geological Survey said the epicentre of the quake was 44 kilometres (km) north-northeast of Zihuatanejo in Guerrero state and 286 km of Mexico City.
The tremor was felt in the Mexican capital around 10.45 pm when commercial buildings were mostly empty.
A quake of 5.5 magnitude shook Honduran capital Tegucigalpa on Wednesday although there were no initial reports of any damage in the central American country, not very far from the southern borders of Mexico. The US Geological Survey said the quake struck 160 km north of Tegucigalpa and 7 km from the town of San Juan Pueblo.
