was killed in broad day light in his farm house in New Delhi. Now, it is being suspected that crores might have spent to execute the gruesome murder and on contract killers.

Delhi police suspect conspiracy by of powerful person(s) who might have spent crore of money on the shooters who had spent Rs 8 lakh to buy the Skoda Laura car which was used during Bhardwaj's murder.

Police received crucial information after questioning the owner of the Skoda car Rakesh who sold it just a day before Bhardwaj's murder. Based on Rakesh's statement, police detained another person Amit who allegedly drove the car and helped the shooters to enter into Bhardwaj's farmhouse.

Two shooters have already been identified as Purushottam Rana and Sunil who reportedly are trying to flee to Nepal by road. Police issued look out circulars (LoCs) to prevent their escape.

Police grilled Bhardwaj's elder son Hitesh massively on Sunday, March 31. It is believed that someone close to the BSP leader is involved in the murder conspiracy.

Police suspect that dispute over property might be reason behind the murder sincea lot of Bharadwaj's property is registered in his own name. Sources said that Bharadwaj had not given his family a share in the money.

"He did not keep the family in the loop about his property deals and had asked his wife and sons to return the ownership of the Dwarka-based school, Shiksha Bharati School, which they were running," said a source.

Another suspect is a lady acquaintance of Bharadwaj who they feel may be connected to the murder. They suspect that someone very close to him, who is aware of his schedule is involved in the murder.

The police conducted raids at several places in connection with the murder case. Many people have been detained. The cops believe that the detained persons could be contract killers.

Bharadwaj was the richest candidate in the 2009 Lok Sabha polls with declared assets of over Rs 600 crore. His younger son Nitesh is married to Shahrukh Khan's sister-in-law.
