AirAsia offers 'zero rupee' seats for Asian destinations

The Malaysian carrier, coming soon to India, has announced ‘zero rupee' fares to Indian cities on international routes within Asia. Tickets can be booked from this evening (April 1) to April 7 for the journey in 2014 (from January 1 to April 30, 2014).
The offer ranges (inclusive of taxes) from Kolkata to Bangkok for Rs 3,300, Chennai to Bangkok for Rs 3,500, Bangalore to Kuala Lumpur for Rs 5,500 , Kolkata to Kuala Lumpur for Rs 5000 and Cochin or Chennai to Kuala Lumpur for Rs 4500.
According to AirAsia, up to two million seats are on offer under this scheme. AirAsia flies 186 routes and covers 85 destinations.
"Free seats to domestic Malaysia destinations such as Penang, Alor Setar, Johor Bahru, Kota Bahru, Terengganu and more are also available from Kuala Lumpur . Only taxes and fees apply to these free seats, which will be available from INR 0 one way," the AirAsia said.
The passengers will pay airport charges and fuel surcharge as extra. The promotional seats are available for booking via AirAsia's mobile booking platforms through WAP enabled phones at mobile.airasia.com and AirAsia apps on iPhone and Android devices.
