Firing at Delhi metro station: 1 killed, 2 injured

The deceased was identified as Deepti. The accused, Pawan, fled the scene after leaving behind the 12-bore double-barrel-gun with which the crime was committed, on the spot.
Deepti and her father Bisham Das were moving up the escalator in the station when Pawan allegedly started firing even as the bystanders watched in horror. Pawan fled before anyone, including the security personnel, could move an inch.
Five empty cartridges were found from the spot of the crime.
The Metro station firing was the second firing incident in the national capital of the day. Earlier, BSP leader Deepak Bhardwaj was shot dead by some unidentified men at his farmhouse in Vasantkunj in southern Delhi following an argument. Sixty-two-year-old Bhardwaj was one of the most rich candidates to have contested the 2009 parliamentary election.
