Sanjay Dutt must undergo punishment: Anna Hazare

Hazare, who was speaking to the media persons before taking part in a function to mark the launch of the silver jubilee of the family court here, said that it was wrong that various luminaries and parliamentarians were speaking in favour of showing leniency towards Dutt. Hazare said Dutt was convicted by the court and should be ready to face punishment, no matter what the parliamentarians said.
The veteran activist also said on the occasion that the Centre misused the CBI to meet political ends and the latest raid by the investigative agency on the establishments and business of DMK leader Stalin after his party withdrew from the UPA government on the Sri Lanka issue re-established the fact. He said the raids could not be mere co-incidence.
Hazare also took a dig at the regional parties, saying the nexus between the small parties hinder the development of the nation. The man also refused to join the Aam Aadmi Party's agitation led by Arvind Kejriwal, who was once his close aide. Hazare said he would focus more on reaching out to the people of the country rather than joining a political agitation.
