Modi effect: Wharton main sponsor Adani Group pulls out

Earlier, a spokesperson of the group said in a statement that "Mr Adani had conveyed his inability to join Wharton India Economic Forum long back (almost a fortnight ago) as he has other pressing commitments."
The Adani Group later said Adani's inability could not be linked with Wharton's decision of cancelling Modi's keynote address for Adani had conveyed his decision prior to the controversy.
The Adani Group has corporate interests in ports, logistics, energy, edible oil and infrastructure and the group is known for its proximity to Modi.
