6.2 earthquake rattles Japan, no tsunami warning issued

"Its focus was in the north of Tochigi prefecture. Its depth is about 10 kms and its magnitude is estimated at 6.2," the agency said.
Japanese broadcaster NHK reported that so far abnormalities have not been detected at nuclear power plants in the Tochigi prefecture despite buildings in the area reportedly swaying for more than 30 seconds. High-rise apartments in Tokyo and other cities were also seen rocking at the time the quake struck.
Residents of Tokyo were quoted by Reuters as saying that their homes shook for at least half a minute. However, no one seems to have got injured.
