Akbaruddin Owaisi
Hyderabad, Feb 15: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi must be a confused man now.

Owaisi on Friday, Feb 15, was granted bail in a hate speech case by a court in Nizamabad district of Andhra Pradesh. However, he is still waiting for bail in another case of hate speech in a court in Nirmal town of Adilabad district.

Currently, Owaisi is lodged in jail. He was arrested by police on January 8 for making a controversial speech against a particular community at Nirmal on December 22. He was also booked for delivering hate speech at Nizamabad on December 8.

In both courts, his voice was recorded and sent for forensic examination as he had claimed that the voice in footage was not his.

The court in Nirmal in Adilabad district near Hyderbad extended Akbaruddin's judicial custody till Feb 26.

Experts from the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) conducted voice sample test of Akbaruddin in the court, wherein he was asked to read an Urdu newspaper and some Urdu documents. The court also extended his judicial remand till Feb 26 in the case.

A member of the assembly from Chandrayangutta in Hyderabad, Owaisi is facing charges of sedition, waging war against the nation and promoting enmity between people.
