CM Abdullah has put us under house arrest: Guru's family

Guru's cousin Muhammad Yaseen asked even if Omar Abdullah was not aware about Guru's execution, was his father Farooq, a central minister, also not aware? He lashed out at the CM saying while they have been put under house arrest, Hurriyat leaders have been put under detention. "People and even our own relatives are not allowed to mourn or to visit us for expressing solidarity. This is the height of dictatorship and cruelty", a Kashmir-based media quoted him saying.
Yaseen thanked the people of the Valley for standing by the side of the family. He said Afzal was proved to be a son of the nation and that the government had deceived the entire nation through his execution. He also rued that no legislator except Engineer Rasheed protesting against Guru's hanging.
Guru's family was not informed about the execution and a mail was dispatched by speed post on the eve of the hanging but it reached the family two days after the execution.
