Narendra Modi at 7 RC Road: A visit to the future?

New Delhi, Feb 6: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at 7 Race Course Road, the latter's official residence, on Wednesday morning.

Modi later told reporters that although the meeting was mainly a courtesy call following his third consecutive victory in Gujarat in December last year, he had spoken to the PM over issues like Sardar Sarovar Dam project and gas price rise in Gujarat and expressed his disappointment on certain things. He said Singh assured him of personally taking care of those issues and help the state government at the earliest.

He said he gave the Singh a memorandum on the Sardar Sarovar dam issue.

The heavyweight BJP leader will talk to students at Sri Ram College of Commerce here, which is being seen as his efforts towards building a national appeal ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

He will also visit Allahabad to take part in the Maha Kumbh on February 12.

Meanwhile, a protest has been planned outside the college Wednesday afternoon against Modi's visit to the university. "Do not legitimise the mastermind of Gujarat genocide in our academic spaces," said an SMS asking students to gather in the North Campus.
