Dirty Politics on Bhanwari Devi: Mallika Sherawat threatened

Mumbai, Jan 29: Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat has reportedly received death threats for acting in a movie which is based on controversial Bhanwari Devi case. Sherawat along with the director of the movie - Dirty Politics, KC Bokadia also has received such "threatening calls".

Speaking about the calls, Sherawat was quoted as saying, "I have received threats. There was a call that my brother received, saying "tell your sister to stay away from this topic and from the film". I think these kinds of threats will be issued."

Mr Bokadia also said, "I have also received a lots of threats. I know my duty as a filmmaker. Though I am inspired by the Bhanwari Devi case I have presented it in my own style. I think it will be a clean and good film. We have done the film in our way..it is one of the best films that I have made."

36-year-old Bhanwari Devi was a Rajasthan-based nurse who had gone missing from Jodhpur's Bilara area and was killed in 2011. As many as 17 people including former Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna have been made accused into the case.

Maderna and others were booked under various sections of IPC including section 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 201 (cause the evidences to disappear), 302 (murder), 364 (abduction with in intention of murder) of IPC and SC/ST Act.
