Gangrape: DNA nails 6 accused, victim's father seeks justice

Along with cellphone records and testimony from the dying woman, now DNA investigation of bloodstained clothes and body swabs has linked all five men and the juvenile accused to the heinous crime.
The father of the victim, who died in a Singapore hospital after battling for her life for 13 days, demanded shift justice. Victim's father wants all the six accused to be hanged.
"It is the duty of the court and the judges to ensure that the final order to punish all the accused is handed out quickly and all men are hanged," victim's father said. "No man has the right to live after committing such a heinous crime."
The trial of the five accused will begin in a fast-track court in Delhi on Monday, Jan 21. The sixth accused, who has claimed to be a juvenile, will be tried in a juvenile court.
The special court is expected to conduct the trial on a day-to-day basis in the case. The Juvenile Justice Board is expected to deliver its verdict on the age of the minor accused on Jan 28.
The brutal gangrape and assault on the 23-year-old woman and her male friend shocked the entire nation. The nation stood up to protest against the crime. Protesters are demanding capital punishment for the culprits.
