Twitter goes abuzz over revelation of Delhi victim's name

The Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Tharoor on Tuesday, Jan 1 pinned the debate while tweeting, "Wondering what interest is served by continuing anonymity of #DelhGangRape victim. Why not name&honour her as a real person w/own identity?"
Continuing his demand, Tharoor also claimed that the anticipating new law on rape and sexual assaults related to crime against women should be named after the young victim.
"Unless her parents object, she should be honoured&the revised anti-rape law named after her. She was a human being w/a name, not just a symbol," reads Tharoor's tweet.
Soon many people joined the bandwagon. While some people supported Tharoor's call, others claimed that naming anti-rape law behind the victim's name would not honour her.
Here are some tweets of twitteratis who joined the debate on Twitter:
Dimple M. (@chulbuli_pandey) : Dear @ShashiTharoor, you may want to name the anti-rape law against the Delhi gangrape victim, but try suggesting HOW the law can be imposed
Jaisalthapar (@jaisalthapar) : Nothing but a stupidity stunt!
surendra tripathi (@bansi48) : I think Shashi Tharoor has given a very good and practical suggestion, it will leave a hard impact
Aparna (@AparnaMKH) : I'm really surprised by the kind of secrecy surrounding the Delhi rape victim.. even her name is not divulged. She is an icon not a culprit.
Singh Nair (@Singh2077) : It would be a respect to the victim, most important is implementation.
Sweta leena panda (@LeenaPanda) : Good suggestion.yeah ! for this our sister will be memorable for us ...it will remind us WOMEN ARE NOT WEAK. !
sutarchirag (@sutarchirag) : If these politicians are so "touched" they should add her last name in their own name.
Madhav Pai (@madhavp123) : Dont change the topic now..First pass the respective laws and then do what you want..
Abhilash Ruhela (@BoL_BLoGGeR) : I am totally against honoring the Delhi rape victim and naming the law after her real name. Why? Is she the only victim in India?
Sabyasachi Baldev (@i_am_sabyasachi) : ENOUGH of just only mentioning about the Delhi Gang Rape victim in the name of Damini or Nirbhaya everywhere...!!!...
Amid the controversy over naming the anti-rape law, family members of gang rape victim on Wednesday reportedly said that it would be an honour for them and for the victim if the law would be named behind her.
The real name of the victim has not been revealed yet by family, relatives, friends or any police officials. However, media organisations started calling her with different names such as "Damini", "Amanat", "Nirbhaya".
The victim of the brutal gang rape was assaulted and raped by six men and later was thrown out of a moving bus. After a rigorous battle for her life, she died in a hospital in Singapore.
