New Delhi, Dec 24: Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has drawn widespread flak for comparing the youngsters who have been agitating in central Delhi over the past few days to Maoists.

Pointing out that they are merely demanding justice for the victim of the Delhi gangrape, the protesters said that the home minister should not have drawn a parallel between them and the violent adherents of Maoism.

Delhi police had used tear gas, water canons and lathicharged the protesters who gathered at India Gate, Jantar Mantar, Vijay Chawk and Raisina Hill.
