Bangalore, Dec 24: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and BJP chief of the state KS Eshwarappa landed in a legal soup when the Lokayukta police on Monday, Dec 24 raided his residence and found booty of 37 kilogram silver, 1.9 kilogram gold and Rs. 10,90,000.

Citing a complaint by advocate B Vinod, the Lokayukta court of Shimoga directed the police to raid the BJP chief of the state. The advocate had accused Eshwarappa of accumulating properties through corrupt means.

An First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Eshwarappa, his son KE Kantesh and daughter-in-law Shalini.

Eshwarappa, who has been touring the north Karnataka, earlier had welcomed the raids saying, "truths would come out".

Eshwarappa, the latest BJP leader in the state facing fresh corruption charges, refused to bow to Congress pressure of resigning from his post.
