Major development in Delhi gangrape case; Victim speaks out
New Delhi, Dec 22: Days after the brutal gangrape in the national capital, the victim finally spoke out. The 23-year-old paramedical student recorded her statement in front of the sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) in Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday, Dec 22.
The girl, who earlier was communicating through writing, spoke after a long time and her statement is admissible in court.
The victim, who has been battling for her life in Intensive-care unit (ICU) of the hospital since Dec 17, has been off the ventilator and is on liquid diet, informed doctors.

The medical team also informed that the victim is very optimistic about her future and is psychologically composed.
The horrific incident triggered anger and outburst across Delhi. Protesters for the last few days are protesting against authorities to end abnormal rise in violence against women in the national capital.
Delhi police and government have been facing tremendous criticism since their actions against protesters who gathered outside Rashtrapati Bhavan, Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Police resorted to tear gas shells, water cannon and lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
This is for the first time, Lutyen's Delhi is witnessing such mayhem and police targetting aam aadmi (common man) who are demanding justice for the victim.
