New Delhi, Dec 22: The continuing protest here on Saturday against the barbaric gangrape of a young medical student finally made the North Block move.

It was learnt that Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde was set to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at around 5 pm on Saturday to discuss the anti-rape protest in Lutyen's Delhi.

Earlier, the police fired tear-gas shells for the third time as protesters tried to break open the barricades outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The protests at India Gate, however, remained peaceful with people carrying out street plays and giving suggestions like CCTV recording while filing FIRs in the police station.

Thirteen persons were injured after the police lathicharged against the protesters. They were admitted to two hospitals.
