With 86% Surendranagar witnesses highest voting in Guj polls

Ahmedabad, Dec 14: On Thursday, Dec 13, Gujarat voted for the first phase of Assembly Elections, 2012. With 86 percent, Surendranagar district witnessed highest voting in first phase of Gujarat assembly polls.

A total of 87 seats went to polls in the first phase. The first phase was crucial for both ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Opposition Congress. There were around 1.81 crore voters listed with the Election Commission (EC). Around 95.7 lakh were male and 86.02 lakh were female voters.
