to "challenge God" and decided to "die by his own timetable."

Pal claimed that he was born on 12-12-1972. He said that his birth was "god's wish".

The onlookers said the 40-year-old Pal scaled the overhead water tank at Pratap Vihar in Ghaziabad. Before dying, he wrote a 12-page suicide note describing his suicide plan. According to witnesses, Pal initially was planning to hang himself with a rope which he carried while scaling the water tank.

But as onlookers created alarm, after finding him putting the rope around his neck, he decided to jump to his death. Police was informed about the development by the eye-witnesses. As policemen approached and dissuaded him not to commit suicide, he continuously threw bricks and stones which he carried with him to the water tank.

Onlookers and policemen failed to save him. Pal jumped to his death around 11.05 am.

Police rushed him to the MMG Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Calendrically speaking, Dec 12, 2012, deserves some notice according to astrologers and numerologists.

"The day -- better known as 12/12/12 -- is one of "energetic significance," according to numerologist Stephanie Sterling.
