Punjab's brave girl gets govt job as Naib Tehsildar
The ASI's daughter, Robinjeet Kaur, who is M.Sc in Computer Science will be a Naib Tehsildar in the Punjab government. A Naib Tehsildar is deputy tehsildar and is attached to the revenue department.
The duty of Naib Tehsildars is to maintain land records. They enjoy the powers of executive Magistrate, assistant collector and sub registrar/joint sub registrar. They are also responsible for recovery of government dues and levies.
A decision to appoint Robinjeet Kaur in the revenue department was taken by the Punjab Cabinet. The cabinet also condemned the murder of Ravinderpal Singh at Chheharta in Amritsar district recently.
Singh was gunned down allegedly by an Akali Dal leader while resisting harassment of his daughter.
