New Delhi, Dec 12: A property dispute between two families led to a shooting incident in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a Gurgaon hospital on Tuesday, Dec 11. Six men entered the hospital and fired eight bullets at a man and his son, leaving both in critical condition. The attack occurred following a scuffle between two families outside a court in Gurgaon, where they had come for hearing of the case.

Satbir, 50, and Yogendra, 26, residents of Khandsa village, were engaged in a land dispute with another family of the same village. The father-son duo, who were injured during the fight outside the court, were taken to Sunrise Hospital and admitted to the ICU.

Meanwhile, some 50 people from the rival family followed them to the hospital where they overpowered the guards and wanted to kill both the injured, police sources said. At least six men barged into the ICU and opened fire. By the time the police reached the hospital around 3.30 pm, the attackers had fled.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, East, Maheshwar Dayal said eight rounds were fired in the ICU although the police had found five spent cartridges. Satbir and Yogendra, who were in a critical state, were shifted to Medanta Medicity Hospital, he said.

The DCP said the hospital CCTVs caught the culprits images and the police were working to trace them. The victims' family was helping the police in identifying the accused, he added.

A case had been filed with Kherki Daula police station.
