Anna Doctor Check Up
New Delhi, Dec 8: Social-activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Friday, Dec 7 was admitted to Medanta hospital in Gurgaon, Haryana. On Saturday, doctors said he was recovering but did not divulge information on his discharge from the hospital. Under such circumstances, does Team Anna 2, which was formed recently after parting ways with activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal, face crisis?

At a press conference earlier in Delhi, Hazare said there was an urgent need to unite the country against corruption and launch a revolution to change the system. Earlier Anna had announced that he will start a nationwide tour on Jan 30, 2013 to push the government to enact Jan Lokpal before the 2014 elections. Jan 30 is the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. "Soon there will be a national campaign against corruption. I will start a nationwide tour from Jan 30, 2013," Hazare said.

But as the 75-year-old activist is fighting against his ill health, the forthcoming nationwide tour looks impossible. Though Team Anna 2 has several active members like Kiran Bedi, it looks weak without active participation of Kejriwal. The entire anti-corruption movement started in early 2011 was mostly led by Hazare and his former colleague Kejriwal.

"Anna is still recovering. The attending doctor has not conveyed the fact of discharge yet! Hence we wait to know," Kiran Bedi tweeted on Saturday.

Hazare, who was in the national capital, complained of acidity and weakness on Friday morning and was taken to Medanta Medicity in Gurgaon. "He is doing perfectly fine. No problem at all. He complained of acidity," a doctor attending on him said.
