Karnataka: BS Yeddyurappa looks for minority support

Bangalore, Dec 3: Searching for a new vote bank, BS Yeddyurappa, after quitting BJP, held a convention of minorities on Sunday in Hubli. The meeting attracted leaders from across all parties and it was organised by Yeddyurappa's Karnataka Janata Party.

The convention, a prelude for the KJP's national convention in Haveri, saw a huge turnout in Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar's home town of Hubli. The meeting at Ambedkar maidan was led by local leader Jabbar Khan Honnali, who was formerly with the Congress.

Minority community leaders like Mumtaj Ali Khan of BJP and Congress leaders along with 20,000 public participated in the meeting. Haveri is very close to Hubli and Jabbar Khan has been mobilising support among the minorities for the KJP meeting on Dec 9.
