BSY kickstarts his 2nd political innings by targetting BJP

On Saturday, Yeddyurappa accused BJP government in Karnataka of "going slow on development works after he had stepped down as Chief Minister."
"The MLAs are anguished that the development works are getting slackened despite the government having sufficient funds. The people are also upset as the pace of work is slowing down due to the lethargic attitude of the officials," he said.
Yeddyurappa, who will launch his own party Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) in Haveri on Dec 9, questioned as why BJP is still continuing with Gadkari as its party president as he too is facing corruption charges?
"But it hurts that while I was asked to step down without any legal grounds as they wanted to attack Sheila Dixit, for Gadkari, its baara khoon maaf. I asked them for just two days to step down as we were in the inauspicious month of Aashada. They did not give me even that," Yeddyurappa said in an interview to India Today.
Yeddyurappa was asked to step down as Chief Minister of Karnataka by BJP high command after former Lokayukta Santosh Hegde's report identified bribery charges against him.
The former Chief Minister of the state sent his resignation letter to BJP President Nitin Gadkari whom Yeddyurappa had accused of ditching him after not reappointing him to the CM position. "The party has given everything to me. And I have sacrificed my life to build my previous party (BJP). I am leaving because of our own (BJP) people. They don't want me to continue in the party; that's why I am resigning from the primary membership as also MLAship," said Yeddyurappa.
All BJP leaders from his assembly constituency Shikaripura in Shimoga district stepped down to join his new party. "They mistook my goodness as a weakness," said Yeddyurappa while recalling the situation when he was asked to step down as CM by the party high-command in 2011 as a "disciplined soldier" of the party.
Yeddyurappa also urged MLAs and Ministers of the Karnataka Cabinet not to resign as he wants the Jagadish Shettar's government to complete its full term and he does not want to rock the boat.
