Addressing the gathering on the eve of the fourth anniversary of the fateful day, US national Scherr Kia Dilisek, who had lost her husband and daughter in the attacks, expressed her gratitude to the city for giving her emotional support during tough times.

"...Three years ago, I came to Mumbai on a mission, it was a mission to counter balance terrorism with love supported by Mr. Oberoi, Mr. Ratan Tata, we formed One Life Alliance which gave rise to the global peace initiative," Scherr said.

Union Minister of State for HRD Shashi Tharoor, who was also at the meet, said hatred should not be given an opportunity and at the same time, the horrific incident should not be forgotten. He also lauded Mumbai's 'never say die' spirit. Tharoor said he makes it a point to some to Mumbai every year during the anniversary of the 26/11 attacks. He also mentioned about the unsung heroes who gave their lives while trying to protect their city on the fateful day.

The lone surviving member of the Pakistan-backed terror gang, which had carried out the attack in Mumbai, Ajmal Kasab, was hanged in Pune's Yerwada Jail on November 21.
