My party will play stellar role in Karnataka: Yeddyurappa

"Though regional parties have failed to sustain themselves earlier in Karnataka, Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) will play a vital role in changed political scenario in the state," he told reporters here.
Yeddyurappa had already announced that he would launch KJP on Dec 9 after resigning from BJP and also his Assembly membership by first week of next month.
National parties are losing relevance as they have failed to bring solace to the people, he said. Yeddyurappa said ministers and legislators in the BJP Government who were supporting him have been given "liberty" either to attend or abstain from the function to launch the KJP, to be held at Haveri.
Yeddyurappa said he had no intentions to bring down the Jagadish Shettar government and there was no way he could return to BJP.
He visited Sharanabasaveswara Temple and Budha Vihar in the city and performed pooja. Minister Revunaik Belamagi and legislator Sunil Vallyapure accompanied him.
