Bal Thackeray's demise: Narendra Modi meets Uddhav in Mumbai

Modi visited Thackerays' residence Matoshree on Tuesday, Nov 20. The Gujarat CM could not attend Bal Thackeray's funeral in Mumbai on Sunday. Modi paid tribute to Sena patriarch and consoled the bereaved family.
Bal Thackeray breathed his last on Saturday at Matoshree. He was cremated at Shivaji Park where he had begun his political career in 1966.
The funeral procession created a history as at least 50 lakh people gathered to show respect to their leader during his last journey.
Modi earlier on Saturday had made a call to Bal Thackeray's nephew and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and offered his condolence.
Praising the Sena chief and remembering about their personal rapport, Modi earlier had commented, "He kept himself away from corridors of politics and built an entire political party. He never tolerated or compromised on patriotism."
