Woman held for posting anti-Thackeray comment on FB: Report
Palghar (Maharashtra), Nov 19: A 21-year-old woman was reportedly arrested for questioning complete shutdown in Mumbai for the funeral of Bal Thackeray, the Shiv Sena patriarch who passed away on Saturday at the age of 86. Another girl who 'liked' the comment was also arrested, said the report published in a popular English newspaper.

The duo was booked under Section 295(a) of the IPC (for hurting religious sentiments) and Section 64(a) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Although the girl had withdrawn her comment and apologised later, a mob comprising 2,000 Shiv Sena workers attacked and ransacked the orthopaedic clinic of her uncle at Palghar.
Police said the accused girl had commented that people like "Thackeray are born and die daily and one should not observe a bandh for that", the report said.
Mumbai had come to a grinding halt on Sunday when Thackeray, who was seriously ill for sometime, was cremated at Shivaji Park, where Thackeray had founded his party in Jun 1966.
