Massive fire breaks out in New Delhi, 1 killed
New Delhi, Nov 19: One person was killed after a massive fire broke out at Himalaya House at Kasturba Gandhi Marg in New Delhi early on Monday morning. Twenty-five fire tenders were pressed into action to bring the fire under control. Sources said that the fire broke out around 6.20 am.
Top sources in Delhi fire services said the fire was caused by electric fault. It is learnt that the fire broke out on the first floor and went on to engulf four more floors of the building.
Property worth lakh was destroyed in the blaze apart from the death of the security guard on the fourth floor. The area around the building, which houses commercial offices, was cordoned off.
