Mumbai mourns Bal Thackeray's death; comes to a standstill

Mumbai, Nov 17: Dream City Mumbai has come to a standstill after receiving the tragic news over Bal Thackeray's demise. All shops and other businesses have been closed down.

86-year-old supremo of Shiv Sena breathed his last at 3:33 PM on Saturday, Nov 17. His doctor Jaleel Parkar, while informing about him, said, "Bal Thackeray had cardiac arrest and we could not revive him despite efforts."

Shiv Sena party leaders asked its Sainiks (workers) to maintain calm and peace in Mumbai which has come to an standstill after getting the news of Bal Thackeray's demise.

Security has been beefed up around the Thackerays' residence - Matoshree where all Shiv Sena and political party leaders gathered to show their last tribute to their leader.

Funeral procession will begin at 10 am on Sunday from Matoshree. The cremation is expected to be taken place at 3:00 PM. People have been asked to reach Shivaji Park at Dadar where Bal Thackeray's body will be kept for "darshan" from 7 AM onwards.
