Faith-healer behind Bal Thackeray's health recovery?
Sources say Thackerays allowed one Lal Arvind Singh Sehdev, a self-styled practitioner of healing who helped Shiv Sena Supremo to stabilise a bit, after he was taken seriously ill.
Sehdev said that he was a practitioner of Rohini Vidya. Through his expertise Sehdev claims that he creates positive energy by the use of mantras. Sources say Sehdev visited Matoshree, the house of Thackerays, after which Bal Thackeray's health improved. Sehdev said because of his healing methods "positive energy" in Matoshree has improved.
"The flow of positive energy is definitely higher today than on Wednesday," he said on Friday morning.
A local Shiv Sainik, Sanjay Sawant, who happened to know of Sehdev's practices via the Internet, called Sehdev to Mumbai.
"Like Shiv sainiks who want Balasaheb to recover quickly and win this life and death battle I called Sehdev for the same thing. Seeing a glimmer of hope in Sehdev's Rohini Vidya that can help our Kul Daivat (God) recover completely from this illness, I invited Sehdev to come and do something," Sawant.
But rationalists have contested the claim. Rationalists say that people should not believe in blind-faith and ignore such rumours.
Meanwhile, Bal Thackeray continues to remain critical but stable after showing further signs of improvement on Friday evening.
The improvement in the health condition of the Sena chief also led to normalcy returning to Mumbai and crowds outside his residence Matoshree diminishing. Security, however, continues to remain tight outside Matoshree.
Shiv Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna' on Saturday said party chief Bal Thackeray is recovering and there is no need to worry. "Our warrior is fighting. With good wishes and prayers of Shiv Sainiks across Maharashtra, Thackeray is recovering," an article said.
