Court asks police to register case against Digvijay, 5 others

Ujjain (MP), Nov 9: A local

on Friday, Nov 9 ordered registration of a case against

general secretary

and five others for allegedly manhandling Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers during a protest.

During his visit to Ujjain about six months back, BJYM workers showed black flags to Digvijay Singh and other Congressmen following which Singh, Ujjain MP (Congress) Premchand Guddu, Hemant Chouhan, Dileep Singh Mahesh Parmar and others allegedly chased and beat them up.

The BJYM workers then filed a complaint with the Jiwajiganj police station in this regard, but no case was registered by police, after which they approached the local court. Following the petition, Additional District Judge Deepesh Tiwari ordered police to register cases against the Congress workers, including Singh, Guddu and others, under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 326 and 324 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) among others of the IPC.
